Series 2 of the Kinetic Collection is dedicated to the first four decades of the Formula 1 World Championship.

The ceaseless search for a competitive advantage saw a rapid switch to rear engined cars as Formula 1 entered the 1960s.

In 1962 an equally important revolution took place with the introduction of the Colin Chapman designed Lotus 25. The first Formula 1 car to adopt a monocoque chassis, it was smaller, stiffer, and crucially lighter than the competition and claimed the World title in 1963.
