Series 2 of the Kinetic Collection is dedicated to the first four decades of the Formula 1 World Championship.

1988 was a season of transition in Formula 1. Turbo-charged engines would be outlawed the following year, and teams had a decision to make. Continue to develop their turbo cars, or become early adopters of the new normally aspirated rules.

McLaren opted to exploit the performance advantage offered by Honda’s V6 Turbo, to devastating effect. The elegant MP4/4 was victorious in fifteen out of sixteen races, a feat that remained unmatched until 2023.
